The installation of the nine-stage steam turbine delivered in July 2019 for our customer BEK Bioenergie Killertal GmbH has been successfully completed. The plant is used to generate electricity and heat for heating and drying purposes. With a capacity of 710KW and a speed of 8940 revolutions per minute, the primary goal is the heat supply. Specifically, the adjacent industrial halls on the company premises of RIDI Leuchten GmbH in Jungingen. The plant serves for heating purposes in winter, for air conditioning in summer and for the supply of technical heat for a large paint shop, as well as the drying of agricultural goods in seasonal cycles. In addition, the electricity is to be fed into the grid of the electricity supplier on the basis of the “EEG” (German Renewable Energy Sources Act). The increase in electrical power results from the replacement of a steam engine with simultaneous use of district heating for the above-mentioned domestic needs. The commissioning is scheduled for November 2019.

We are particularly pleased to cooperate with one of our previous clients in this project. Markus Monnheimer of Holzwerk Grasellenbach Monnheimer GmbH & Co. KG has been our planning engineer in-between the process. In addition, we made a replica of the BEK Killertal as a replacement investment for the destroyed turbine during a fire in the woodwork Grasellenbach plant. The delivery for this turbine is scheduled for December 2019.
